That which we feel is good for us and values we hold dear, why are they so very hard to adhere to? Perhaps it is so that this is linked with our inherent dislike of that which is presented as “musts” in cooperation with our biological predisposition. Our brains are wired in a way that makes short-term rewards seem as urgent… we better get what we can while we can. Overeating is a good example of this, a problem that we are blessed to have, but still it is a problem. Stuff your face with food, because should you be starving later this would serve you well.
